Lillsis accompanied me (well I picked her up) to the stable thursday and along came the camera.
We started the day off by exercising myself and Garre in the pasture for about an hour, since he refused to let me “catch” him. He knows all about the “join up” part and comes to me on his own accord. Then he takes off running…
And yeah, I was as miserable as it looks. Haha.
It was a brilliant day for that kind of activities. Wet and muddy …
Garre finally came to his senses – after I cursed and yelled: I don’t give a damn how I catch the damned horse (which means that I was seconds away from giving up a main principle of mine and go fetch a feed bucket).
A dirty horse needs cleaning. Or so I thought. Garre on the other hand was in doubt if a spunge bath really was necessary (look at the sponge.. lol). So, once I had dry socks and dry shoes on my feet and Garre was cleaned up as well as I could manage it. We headed out on adventures.

About time I write a little something about this place, seeing as I’ve only spent like 20-30 nights here by now…
So if you’re looking for a place to stay while visiting Västerås I’ll recommend bedsandbreakfast.se
The room is fairly close to the city, the bus stops right outside the house. It’s a fairly quiet area and the room is rather homey. The bed is huge and comfy. The tiny little refrigerator is tiny but it beats nothing. No minibar but besides that I’d say we got hotels standard in a more homey setting.
The seashells in the window are fakes, you can’t hear the sea in them. This drags the authenticity of the theme of the room down a bit. But I guess there’s worse things than fake seashells in the world …

Or highlife as we say. Garre the cowhorse was bursting with energy yet again today which resulted in some undesired large reactions to small things. (In case you can’t tell by the pictures – it was a very beautiful day, perfect I’d say)
A pile of snow, for example, made the oh so dear horse throw himself to the other side of the road nearly flinging myself straight into a large tree. Good thing I don’t do involuntary sit-offs or I might have just fallen and hurt myself rather bad in the process.
I hung on, turned, my not so brave steed, around and made him face the horrible, intimidating, pile of snow. Then I also made him step on it. And we survived, the both of us. For the whole ride Garre would start to trott as soon as I shortened the reins. I don’t mind it but another rider might so we’ll have to work on that. Enthusiasm is, however, always a good thing.
And back home, with the friends in sight, Garre stops dead the moment I let go of the reins and stirrups. Then he stands perfectly still as I get out of the saddle. The moment my feet touches the ground he backs a step and wants his reward – a good boy and a little treat. Then we walk the rest of the way back to the stable. He may be big. But he’s so very kind and gentle.
It also helps that he’d do just about anything for a treat = he’s extremely easy to teach new things. Just pat him, tell him he’s a good boy and give him a treat and you can be sure he’ll remember it for next time.

The day started so promising, + degrees and sun. Then the sky suddenly turned grey and it began to blow up storm winds outside… For the very first little stretch Garre had to live with being second, not that he didn’t try to overtake Polly and easily could have done so had he had my permission. Jenny and Polly out on a little jog. They soon disapeared far ahead of us…
unfortunately for me and Garre it got really bad when we were out, brrrr in other words. But hey, a little storm wont stop a horse and his horsiegirl. We just trotted a little more than planned to get on back to the stable a little faster. And we had fun, the both of us.

Or VOLVO (jag rullar) and hell yeah we are rolling! A bit late with the news that the pearl is back in action since I’ve been driving it a couple of times already since last monday. But maybe someone missed the detail that suddenly – after hours of work on taking stuff apart and putting them back together – my dear car decided to start again. The relief!
There’s still a bit of work to be done. My 30th birthday present will be a new generator for the car from my dear parents.

Stopped by to say hi to Clabbe before heading on home to read a little more in my current book: A memoir called Chosen forever, which is the sequel this authors first memoir: Chosen by a horse.
Then in the evening I watched the perfect sunday movie Hugo .

If january started of great february has yet to become a ‘good’ month. Sick x 2 – I hardly made it back to work before I had to stay home again. Now I’m starting to feel human again and I have a week off ahead of me. Riding, reading, jobsearching and a good movie or two is what’s on my schedule. Recharge the batterys and turn this month around. There are no such things as bad days, weeks or months. Life is what you make of it.
Now I’m out for a walk in the rain.

Tonight the snow came for real. The walkpaths were hardly cleared of the white, cold, wet blanket of snow when I set out for work. It took a little bit longer than usual but was alot prettier to look at. The world covered in nice bright clean snow. Best to enjoy it while it lasts…
I missed a big day

Blogging hasn’t been a priority this past week. I’ve been preoccupied with sick- and poorness. Therefor I missed the day when coffee – the gasoline of a journalist – became free at VLT. Mind you that we payed like 10 cents? before. And I don’t even drink that much coffee to begin with, my stomach can’t stand it unfortunately.
Shiney and new. But looks exactly the same as the old one, minus the lack of coin slide.

Testpilot på Peugeot 508 SW GT I signed up and I won’t cry if they let me test drive this car. They are looking for 20 test drivers out of which five will be bloggers. Pick me! My car broke down I need new wheels, if only temporary. And I’m home sick and poor and miserable. Getting to test this car for a couple of days would certainly cheer me up *winks*. Now I have to call my granny who turns 83 today. Happy b-dat grams ♥
